February 19th - 28th, 2010 Jonathan performed at the Lyric Theatre in the musical "Gypsy". He played "Herbie". Check out the Stuart News review on the theatre page.

Jonathan was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky. He received Kentucky All-State’s highest vocalist rating of 50-A 1980 -1982.
His first band was “Troubador’ from 1981-1982, in which they won contests and obtained radio airplay, recorded songs in a professional studio had a song included in a composition album “Home Cookin” and performed locally.
He has performed with The William Hall Coral, Paul Solomonovich Orchestra and sang backup for Barry Manilow at the Hollywood Bowl in 1983.
In 1988, Jonathan won 1st place out of 3,000 in the Stardom Pursuit 1988 Vocalist Competition, in Los Angeles.
From 1988-1990, he was in the group duo “Dude”. They received the opportunity of appearing in the 1990 “Music Connection” magazine for their background musical scoring on late night TV segments and video. Then in 1990, the duo changed their name to “Bod Squad” and together went on to write and produce a song that appeared on a compilation Album ‘Yo Sucka’ that was released by Epic Records and the net proceeds went to D.A.R.E.
From 2003 – 2006, Jonathan was part of the vocal duo “CummingWest”. Jonathan Cummings and Tara West performed at many venues and won contests. Some of the songs that Tara and Jonathan wrote together appear on the “Six Strings, One Voice” CD.

Over the years, Jonathan has compiled and produced numerous commercial jingles for radio and TV. Jonathan has also spent numerous hours on stage performing in local theatre shows such as; “The Pajama Game”, “Company” and “Gypsy”. Jonathan has also had the privilege of appearing in a full length feature film, “Natalie, Queen of Scots in 2009.
Jonathan is an exceptional vocal jazz improvisationalist, guitarist, bassist, percussionist, music software programmer, vocal coach, home studio project producer, singer, songwriter and lyricist. He gigs locally in the Stuart Florida area at many restaurants and other venues. His previous CD “Six Strings One Voice” is available on the Music page with free downloads are available. His current CD, “Sailing the Wave of Rygil” is also now available on this website with free downloads. Jonathan has returned to his roots in creating this progressive rock epic CD that carries on a continuous theme from beginning to end. Jonathan plays all the instruments on the CD.
