I was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky and received Kentucky All-State’s highest vocalist rating of 50-A 1980 -1982.
My first band was “Troubador’ from 1981-1982, in which we won contests and obtained radio airplay, recorded songs in a professional studio had a song included in a composition album “Home Cookin” and performed locally. You can check out the music we recorded on the Troubador page.
I have performed with The William Hall Coral, Paul Solomonovich Orchestra and sang backup for Barry Manilow at the Hollywood Bowl in 1983.
In 1988, I won 1st place out of 3,000 in the Stardom Pursuit 1988 Vocalist Competition, in Los Angeles.
From 1988-1990, I was in the group duo “Dude”. We received the opportunity of appearing in the 1990 “Music Connection” magazine for our background musical scoring on late night TV segments and video. Then in 1990, we changed our name to “Bod Squad” and together went on to write and produce a song that appeared on a compilation Album ‘Yo Sucka’ that was released by Epic Records and the net proceeds went to D.A.R.E.
From 2003 – 2006, I was part of the vocal duo “CummingWest”. Tara West and I performed at many venues and won contests. Some of the songs that Tara and I wrote together appear on the “Six Strings, One Voice” CD.
Tara currently performs with “The Hot Sauce Boys”. http://www.thehotsauceboys.com/
Over the years, I have compiled and produced many commercial jingles for radio and TV. I have also spent numerous hours on stage performing in local theatre shows such as; “The Pajama Game”, “Company”, “Gypsy” and "Chicago". I have also had the privilege of appearing in a full length feature film, “Natalie, Queen of Scots in 2009.
I consider myself to be a vocal improvisationalist and you can hear many vocal solos on my new CD "Sailing the Wave of Rigel" which is now avalible at my live performances and online. I gig locally in the Stuart Florida area at many restaurants and other venues. My previous CD “Six Strings One Voice” is available on the Music page and free downloads are available.
